We were appointed to reconfigure an existing Barn Conversion which was unsuccessfully developed in the 1980’s. The key objective of the development was to improve on the headroom of the first floor plan and to generate an open free flowing ground floor plan that communicated with the outdoor space. The client was also keen to use materials that were reminiscent of the original farmhouse/ barn. Roofing slate and zinc reflected the slate roof and profiled steel cladding and oversized oak posts and beams within the ground floor extension mimicked the timber structure within the main barn.
